School Policies
DRESS CODE:
 
In order to maintain an appropriate educational atmosphere and ensure safety and security in the school and the community, the following dress code will be strictly enforced: WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO ADD ANY ITEM TO THIAS LIST THAT MAY AT A LATER TIME BECOME GANG-RELATED OR A SAFETY CONCERN FOR OUR STUDENTS!
 
1. Pants, skirts, and culottes must be hunter green (dark green). White, light green or olive colors are not permitted. Pants must fit at the waist (absolutely no "baggies" or even slightly larger garments). Cargo pants are not acceptable uniform pants. Pants that are frayed or slit at the bottom cannot be worn.
 
Walking shorts cannot be more than 3-inches above the knee. The same rule applies to skirts and culottes. Shorts may not extend more than two inches beyond the knees.
Sweat pants and windbreaker pants cannot be worn as part of the uniform. Sweat pants are used only in PE.

2. Shirts must have collars and are to be white or hunter green. Polo shirts are recommended. Girls are not allowed to wear tight shirts; oversized shirts are not permitted for boys or girls. All shirts must be tucked into pants, skirts, or shorts.

3 All hooded, zippered, pullover, fleece sweaters and sweatshirts must be black, hunter green, gray, or white with no lettering of any kind. Sweatshirts cannot be worn under the uniform shirt. Long sleeved shirts or tee shirts cannot be worn over the uniform shirt. White, gray, or hunter green thermal shirts or undershirts may be worn under the uniform shirt.

4. Jackets, including windbreaker jackets, must be solid colors with no lettering of any kind. Jackets mav be any solid color except red or blue. Heavy jackets should be worn only in extreme inclement weather. Jackets should be hip length. Trench coats, long or oversized jackets are not permitted.

5. Please be aware that any clothing items representing sports teams are not to be worn to school (this includes both college and professional teams). Clothing with sports equipment or designer logos is not allowed. Students will not be allowed to wear items of clothing with lettering or symbols from Adidas, FILA, FUBU, Nike, Reebok, Starter, etc.

OTHER DRESS CODE STANDARDS FOR ACCESSORIES:

1. JEWELRY: Students may wear one pair of small earrings (one earring per earlobe). Large hoop earrings are not allowed. Earrings may not be worn in the upper area of the ear. Body piercing and jewelry is not permitted. Students may wear one ring per hand only. Wallet chains or chains for any other purpose is not allowed

2. SHOES: Sandals, open-toed shoes, or shoes with a back strap are unsafe and not allowed. Tennis shoes should be white or black. Colored shoestrings are not permitted. Socks must be worn with shoes at all times and be visible above the ankle. Shoes should be properly laced and students are not allowed to stuff additional socks into their shoes.

3. BELTS: All students must wear belts with their pants. Belt buckles should be plain with no letters or pictures of any kind.

4. HATS/GLOVES: Students may wear hats for sun protection during PE, nutrition, and lunch periods only. All hats must be worn with the bill or visor to the front. Hats must be either green or white and may not have a logo or writing of any kind; only hats that read M-A-C-L-A-Y will be acceptable and available for purchase at the student store later this year. Hats, hoods, and gloves may not be worn in classrooms.

5. MAKE UP: Make-up must be used in an appropriate manner. Black lip liner, glitter, or stickers are not allowed. Extreme hair colors or styles are not permitted.
