Friends of the Family 4 R's program
Friends of the Family's 4Rs Program addresses the need for support and guidance for children ages 11-14 as they negotiate the crucial transition into and the challenges of middle school. We provide three days/week of life skills support and mentoring: gender-specific group to address unique challenges that each gender faces, enrichment day for guest speakers and art/recreation, mentoring day where high school mentors form relationships with the students in a peer mentor approach. Our goal is to support the students in making healthier life choices, become more connected to the importance of education and improving their academic achievement, and become more confident in their abilities.
